Colin Lillywhite, Chief Executive Officer MAGIQ Software commented that the change of company name is an acknowledgement of the significant transformation of the business over the past 12 months.
“Our business has undergone an exciting and very positive transformation over the past 12 months. We have merged three businesses; welcomed many new customers and staff and we have expanded our international presence,” said Colin.
In July last year the business acquired and merged Chameleon Technology with NCS Software forming NCS Chameleon. The acquisition and merger of the infoXpert document management business followed in March this year.
The business has continued to expand its international presence with new Reseller Partnerships in both Singapore and South Africa; and a new office has recently opened in California to support and develop the growing partner and customer base in the U.S.A.
“We have decided the time is now right to acknowledge this very exciting and positive transformation and unify the business under a single, new brand identity,” said Colin.
The origins of the MAGIQ brand lie in the early development of the MAGIQ Enterprise suite of finance and business systems.
The word MAGIQ was originally formed from the programming acronym ‘Maintenance and General Inquiry’; a standard screen within MAGIQ Enterprise. The acronym was coined by one of the business’s Founders and Company Directors, John Benson.
“MAGIQ has a 30-year history within our business and we are very excited to be rebranding our business with this fresh approach, as we continue to unify and develop our Company,” said Colin.
